# 73 on the all time 1500 list

not even in the top 192 (my list only goes 192 deep) in the 800.

so you are saying she should not do her best event anymore and should replace it with 2 comparatively weaker events.

How long has the steeple been a world championship event? Oh yeah, since 2005. Women have been running the 800 and 1500 at the world champs since they began in 1983. Case closed.

Women have been running the 800/1500 a lot longer than that. The first world for the 1500 was recognized by the IAAF in 1967. It reached a very high level of 3:56.0 in 1976.

It was first an Olympic event in 1972.
