Everyone already heard of the impressive youngster Bazy Worku; however, I haven't read much on his World Junior Marathon from his 2nd place finish in Paris 2:06:15. Bazu Worku (born 15 Sep 90) have been a force on the roads at almost every distance he participated and the WJR is indeed one of the best junior marks of all-time.
Highly unlikely. They probably faked his birth certificate or simply don't know.
his birth certificate states that he is of an age to be considered a junior - that is all. it is not "amazing".
in kenya you are how old you say you are or how old you need to be.
just like the dufus who traveled to kenya and came back with a copy of obama's kenyan birth certificate, after paying money for "considerations" aka BRIBE.

maybe/maybe not yes his personal best is 2 seconds better than hall's, but 2 seconds difference in the marathon is nothing, the race between them would be a tossup, and if they raced 10 times most likely both would win and lose a few.

Not sure if your serious or joking around....but regardless of how seriously you're potentially taking something that can't really be determined...That's a hell of a time for a runner early in their career!
It should not be that amazing that Americans are getting faster and east African are getting even faster. The Jr. record at the 5 K is about as fast as the American 5K. And that record is held by an Ethiopian.
i heard bazy worku's birth certificate was forged. he's actually american. not once did he ever deny being american, and i personally would like to hear him say it just once or provide documentation of his birth in kenya, which i will contest

I don't have any idea how old this guy is, and there have certainly been cases of fraud in the past. However, every east African can't be old. It's the same reaction everytime one runs very fast as a junior, but when you look at how fast their senior runners are (many of whom, arent that old) I think it's probable that many of these junior times are legit.
Then again how does a fella 18 or 19 run 2:06? Presumably he has been training since about age 12, and likely training quite hard since 15. But that's only three years to get into 2:06 shape. Incredulous.

doesnt matter how right or wrong the birth certificates are, its not like there is an age limit for track and field events, as long as you are competitive then you can run the grand prix meets and world champs and olympics.
stop making excuses for why america is lacking.
also look at guys like bernard lagat he is in his 30's now and maybe his birth certificate was wrong and say hes 36 or something like. doesnt that just make his ability now even more amazing?

actually junior athletes are not allowed to run the marathon in the olympics or world champs, ethiopia wanted to put worku on its world champion marathon team after he ran 2:06:15 wjr, but he was not allowed to run the marathon because he was too young for the world champs marathon.
