I've run in Asics Gel Kayano's for years. It seems anytime I try a different shoe, I end up injured. However, I hate A) paying 140 for a pair of shoes I can only use for 3 months due to my milage or B) searching continuously for discounted Kayanos.
Does anyone know a very similar shoe to the Kayano that won't break the bank?

2) What sort of injuries are you running into?
3) What shoes were you getting injured in?
If you look at the shoe with a sorta generic category label, it is a stability shoe.
You can look across the other styles of these shoes to find ones that are designed to behave like the Kayano, but it is only your foot and stride that can find the right one:
adidas Supernova Sequence: Softer, lighter, maybe a little less motion control $100
Asics GT2140: most logical choice as it is from the same design team. $100.00
Asics Gel 1140: less Gel, more of the cushioning from EVA, and less money. Good shoe for the price. $85.00
Brooks Adrenaline: More stability. $105.00
Mizuno Inspire: Wave plate as opposed to dual density for motion control. lighter, softer. $100.00
Nike Lunarglide: $100.00
Nike Structure Triax: Softer again. Maybe less control aspects as well. $100.00
Saucony Guide: $100.00. Fit is a little different so it might not work, softer, less control mechanisms as well.
Of course the new Kayano is due out in 2 months, so there will be sales and you could just buy 4 of them to get you through next year.
Final follow up.
You could also run less.

Try Nordstrom Rack for discounted Kayanos (and 2140s for that matter). I just picked up a pair for $70.
I'm sure you have your reasons for wearing the Kayano, but my understanding is that it doesn't give you anything the 2140 won't except more weight and more cost.
In the stability range the DS Trainer is Asics best shoe unless you're, let's say, stout.
