One needn't be a conservative to see that Chavez is a demagogue who is wrecking will wreck his country's economy. As a liberal, I concede 80% of the conservative economic argument - free enterprise does provide the engine for economic development. I just disagree with making absolutist "free enterprise" a ideological quasi-religious worldview that can buck no exceptions and MUST always answer every question. I also don't think consumer freedom is the same thing as freedom and I also don't think government is the only avenue for collectives of power to take away our freedom and that the choice isn't usually between government power and freedom, but rather between government power and corporate power dictating our choices.
