I've been having nose bleeds about once a week for the past month or so and it's really starting to concern me. I have no idea why I am having them and no idea how to stop from having them. I'm doing about 100mpw now but I've done high mileage before(80-90 last summer) and didn't have this problem. I am beginning to worry that this loss of blood will effect my performance. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I used to take sudafed or some similar drug for allergies, and it caused my nose to bleed very easily, you should pry check and see what medications you are taking and ask your doctor about it.

That white, powdery stuff will do that to those inner membranes, scuby. Please stop for the team!

hey meng...don't pass along the secrets of ya yo. i purchased about 50 $G's worth of coca from my colombian brothers. we're gonna distribute it in pillow sacks at the johnson home in flagstaff. if the johnsons reveal my identity, I'll bury those cockroaches.
p.s. say hello to my little friend -
Training in an environment with very low humidity can
give you nosebleeding. Use to get them in N.W. Alberta. -
Jusy about any time I've chamged traing environments, I've had one or two (or more)
I would think that these would have to be horrific nose bleeds to affect your performance, but I'm no Dr. -
I know this is a odd remedy, but I heard that dipping q-tip in olive oil or other edible oils and applying it gently in your nose helps heal scabs, dryness, and such.

Scuba, check your iron levels and look for a supplement possibly...

Thanks to those of you who responded seriously. I do take an allergy pill, but I've been taking it since I was little, but I'm gonna ask my doctor about it. I know it's not the dry humidity thing because Houston always has like 100% humidity, and king, I'll check my iron levels and look into that.
Thanks for the help. -
My son had the same problem in HS. An exam showed he had one little vein in his nose close to the surface that kept rupturing under stress, i.e. races on hot days. The doctor cauterized the vein and that was the end of nose bleeds six years ago.

the cauterizing works. last resort, but no side effects
