Anyone?
Anyone?
How much does the 100m differ from the 10k?
Weight, cushion, shape...
Pretty much every aspect..
Why didn't you google it dude?
They are usually longer than distance spikes, to dig in better with the greater forces generated
If you really have no idea, it probably doesn't matter that much.
In case you really are a Jr. High runner not a Troll, just go with a good middle-distance spike.
Note, I assumed you are talking only about the spikes themselves, not the shoes.
Sprint spikes are less set up for people landing midfoot or heels. Distance spikes tend to be optimized for that.
How much do the shoes differ?
distance spikes are more flexible, have less of an angle, have some degree of cushioning... what am I forgetting? Anyone?
They are like night and day. Don't try to run anything over 400m in sprint spikes. If you're gearing up for cross country season, look for cross country flats. Go to a running specialty store in your area and they should be able to put you in spikes/flats that are right for your event. Or ask your coach. Or if you're a troll, get a life.
Sprinters don't run on their heels, so sprint spikes essentially don't have heels. Everything is shifted toward the forefoot. 100/200-oriented spikes also tend to have harder plates for higher energy return. Some people run 800 well in sprint spikes, but sprint spikes aren't for anything longer than that.
