Unbelieveable race, very happy for him and good to see someone push Bolt. Nothing to be ashamed of.

9.71!! Unreal.
And still loses.
Tyson Gay's 9.71 into a headwind has got to be the 2nd greatest 100m run of all time.

What about the 9.71 he ran with a tailwind today?
Definitely. Gay's run today betters Bolt's 9.69 in Beijing when you take the wind into account. (Although, of course, Bolt shut it down in Beijing.)
I really like TG. He went from the top of the world in 2007, to injured and not in the race in 2008, to insane focus through 2009. Amazing run for him today. Great PR. Would have been a WR until Bolt's race in NYC in 2008, and is clearly the fastest non-Bolt time ever.
Sprinters usually tie up when headed, so he ran an amazing race to get the US record and should also be proud of his Silver

Agree
9.71 fastest 2nd place ever and another AR
great job
You are too focused on the TV announers, who seldom get anything right. It was a .9 m/s tailwind.
That's what made me so sick. The camera goes from a doped-to-the-gills Bolt, acting like a stupid immature clown, to level-headed, humble, Gay, walking away in disappointment.
What a shame.
I fear that Bolt has done so much for T and F that no one will even try to expose him for the fraud he is.
Gay ran a great race. Great to watch.Fear is for the fearful. That's one thing Gay is not. And it would be great if his supporters would learn from him. Unfortunately, and it is a common misfortune among the shy, it is hard to learn virtue from an introvert. You are excused. You can try harder.

Exposing Bolt would be a financial death for the IAAF. I seriously doubt they even test his samples. It's disgusting how the man is flaunting his drug use in front of everyone.
Props to Gay for being the real winner today.
Tyson is a class act, all the way. He was not only courageous, but gracious as well. He has nothing to apologize for, and he is a credit to our sport as well as the USA.
A brilliant race; a fan can ask for no more. He conducts himself as an elite athlete should.
Marion Jones,Justin Gatlin,Butch Reynolds,Florence Griffith Joyner,Tim Montgomery and the list of American cheats continue. Chances are Tyson Gay is a cheat too. Don Drummond and Sean Crawford chatting over the line, Maurice Green rubbing everyone's face in it.Don't even get me started on Carl Lewis who released tests had shown to be positive. Yeah you grudgeful Americans can keep foaming your toxic vibes to the world. I hope you eat your hearts out when the clean Usain Bolt runs your drugged up zombies into the ground fuelled by ocro, trelawny yam and dashine. Take that you blow hard c*ck suckers.

Were you planning on eating out Bolt's butthole right after your rant?
Actually I was watching you trying to have an intelligent thought,it always gives you a headache huh. Well I guess Jackass is your talent.
Here it is. Gay is currently only 0.13s behind Bolt in 100m lets conservativly call that 0.3s behind in 200m. At age 20 gay ran 20.88 and at 23 ran 19.93 an improvment of 0.95s. For Bolt to have the same level of improvment in 3 years he will have to run 200m this year in 18.93. Thing is that people claim bolt must be doped because of how much he improved out of no where so by this logic surely Gay must be even more suspicious. No?
lol you so ignore his improvements in his last year at JUCO? lol you realize he ran near to 20.0 when he was at ark. right? of course not, because it doesn't matter to you. for the record usain should have been running the times he's running now like 2 years ago the guy was the first under 20? year old to run under 20.0 second in the 200 give me a break if you dont think hes due for a bunch of PR's after being injured for so long.
I am very suspicious of Gay, from slow to fast. Usain was always above his class no different now. I remember his jaw dropping performances at the youth championships many yrs ago. tHOSE of us who were at that games expected this from him.
Here is the thing about Gay. He has volunteered to have samples frozen, for future testing. This isn't the sign of a doper. Probably the opposite. I would like to see Bolt volunteer this. Then I would be more comfortable with his running.
Not saying Bolt is a doper. What I am saying is that this would remove most remaining doubt, just like it has removed most doubt for me about Gay (If Gay hadn't done this I would also question him).
I've seen Bolt in person and if he is as doped to the gills as people say he is the skinniest doped up runner I ever did see. Tall, lanky and goofy in a fun kinda way.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
