Who coaches nick symmonds?
Greg Brock in Santa Cruz CA
The average coach will do the average job with the average 148+ runner. Here's what you need to know:
1) A very good coach will get progression for nearly every runner, and utilize more than one approach successfully, depending on the circumstances. Assuming average coaching in your past, the odds are you have room for progression on both stamina and speed sides, so keep an open mind.
Look for > than 98% PB rate, and very low injury rate.
2) A very good coach will be able to revive a career within a single season, maybe two seasons if the college or post-college coaching was especially poor.
3) Look for a coach who has taken at least one runner from ~2' 800m shape down to ~1:50 or so. This is a good guideline because 2' runners are everywhere but <1:50 runners are not.

I would recommend Brian Symonski. He is a coach with a proven record that can help you to take the next step.
Gotta go with Brad Hunt on this one
what about Gagliano
Wes Kittley.
John Cook has coached several guys under 1:48.
He had 5 guys under 1:47 in one race.
