Yea, this strain hasn't occured before, it is actually a mix of bird and swine and some how gets to humans.

H1N1 is not a mix of swine and bird flu. Initial reports were that it was, but those reports were later retracted after more research was done and this strain was found to be new.

H1N1 has existed for years and years. The HxNx numbers do not refer to a particular strain, just to some easily identified characteristics of that strain. They are referred to as serotypes.

Influenza viruses have two readily identifiable proteins that are found on the, Hemagglutinin (H) and Neuraminidase (N). There are many variations of H and N, but only a select group cause diseases in humans. H1N1 refers to the variants of hemagglutinin and neuraminidase that a virus carries. Some variants are more infectious than others, but H and N are not responsible for the actual disease (although without H and N, the flu wouldn't be infectious).

This most recent H1N1 outbreak was concerning becuase it came from a non-human source, so no humans had developed any resistance to it.

Strain from 1918 was re-invented in 2003. In a lab. They extracted it somehow from death bodys (bones?). I guess the idea was that sooner or later it will break-up again. As I guess, the lab reinvented the virus to made vaccine before. Looks like they succeeded.

All flus are a mix of different viruses from pigs and birds. The move back and forth between birds, pigs, and humans. The back in forth is not seamless but involves mutations and combinations of various sorts.

As stated above the H1N1 is not a complete name for this particular flu strain, it is a name of a family of flu strains.

Could that be why the live swine flu virus was discovered in their vaccines? They were forced to admit this and then were being investigated by WHO. So, what a genius idea, file the patent and then release the virus onto the public! More $$$ for Baxter.

Funny, in 2009 Baxter were caught releasing the Swine Flu virus onto the public when it was discovered in their vaccine and recalled.
