First off, I suck. Secondly, my PR is 3:21:24 set 12 years ago, and I want to run one in under 3:30 again. My last two marathons were in the 4:40s. I am ashamed to admit it.
I have never walked in a marathon, but the last two had big portions of seriously slow jogging even though I had three long runs over 20 miles each time, I bonked at about mile 15.
Advice? I've been running about 60 miles a week and usually take 3 months to buildup from a long run of 8 miles up to a 20, 21 and then 22 and then my last long run is usually 10-14 days prior to race day. I'm 40 and could lose 10 pounds but that's it. Can still run 5ks in 18:30 or so. Shouldn't I be able to train for a 3:30? I know that's nothing to most of you, but I'd really like some help in doing it.
Thanks.
