I'm training for the championship part of the cross-country season in November, and am wondering if it is too soon to start hill reps now. I was planning on 12-16x30 sec hill with 2 min recovery. I know Daniels recommends hills or reps in his pre-competition phase, but I've never done repetition work this early before. Up until now I have been building mileage up to the 90-95mpw range and have included tempos ranging from 4-8 miles and a couple light fartleks. Thanks in advance to any responses.
