I was wondering if anyone on this board knew what the availability of the Nike Streak XC is going to be like over the next year with the release of the Streak XC 2. Is there any talk about Nike discontinuing the shoe?

what about the mayfly? is anything going to happen with them or are they gone for-eva?

Yes, the Streak XC is dying. In fact, it's dead. The only ones left are ones that didn't sell before the advent of the Streak XC 2.
The mayfly is still in the catalog through first quarter of next year.
Are the XC 2's out yet? Who has them?
ive worn them. I would consider them a mix somewhere between the katana racer and the streak.

I've worn them for a few weeks now and I loved them at first but I think they are a step down in durability compared to the first XC's. I don't see the midsole/outsole lasting more then 75 miles.
Nike does have a few left in nearly every size 6-13 (sorry, no size 12). If you really need a pair, shoot me an email.

Yes. Much more of a katana racer with an eye towards cross country. Not so much as an improved Streak XC, but a new take on what the Streak XC is about.

Any particular reason? What kind of terrain are you on?
I don't understand Nike ruining one of its most popular shoes - a high school athlete will certainly get a couple seasons in them at that rate, but college and post-college athletes will go through a pair in as fast as five weeks (half a season).
expect your local running shop to have them out by mid-august all depends on when the company ships them

If this is true, I am very disappointed. Once I got used to the minimalist XC, I loved it. Very durable. The outsole lasts a very long time. I liked the Katana's, but the outsole wore out very quickly, so if the new XC 2 has an outsole like the Katana (great traction but not durable) I won't like it.
