I am sure this being sarcastic, but my senior year of college I ran districts in XC. I finished as like the 5th or 6th individual (after taking out the guys ahead of me from teams that qualified) and at the time they take the top 3 (or something like that...). I played hoops the following day because I didn't think I made it to nationals. Of course I twist my ankle, and on the following day I find out that I qualified due to them taking extra teams from my districts. My stupidity! I raced horrible at Nats, but that was definitely not the only reason - I was just out classed.

Running up and down a 90ft court will not replace your tempo or interval workout but it will simulate some good plyometrics with the sudden jumps and burst after the rock.
Since I'm not doing any hardcore training for races I'm playing basketball and it has kept me in good shape. The tempos are suprisingly faster than before I starting hooping. What's up with that?
