Absolutely not. He is dominiant but not to that extent. His start is "bad" to begin with. If he lost the blocks there is no way he would catch up to a field of sub-10 calibre.

Uh, the fact that his start is bad to begin with means he stands to lose less than the average bear by forgoing the blocks. Not helpful for your argument.
I think yes ... seeing someone ahead of you is always good for the competitive juices.
Not likely, but it would be great if he did. Imagine the British commentators / press soiling themselves over it. That'd be worth it.
