Thanks! Did you happen to see the women's 100m hurdles?
What happened in the mens 800m
results link?
Shit..Symmonds just ran like crap. Maybe 1:47 for 4th. ON the lead with 100 mtrs to go then tied up.
Symmonds did indeed tie up....BIG time.
Symmonds looks more economical coming from the back of the pack. I know people on here complain about that tactic all of the time, but that seems to be how he runs best (unless, of course, he is clearly the class of the field). He has a hard time making the "penultimate kick" that demoralizes his competitors at 500m when he goes out too quickly.
Terrible race by symmonds. Lousy field and he still dies on the last 100
So he's not the chosen one?
1. Pecanha Fabiano 82 BRA BRA 1:46.01
2. Kazi Tamas 85 HUN HUN 1:46.17
3. Joseph Moise 81 HAI HAI 1:46.56
4. Symmonds Nick 83 USA USA 1:46.60
5. Campbell David 82 IRL IRL 1:47.23
6. Myers Rob 80 USA USA 1:47.55
7. Bromley Nick 84 GBR GBR 1:48.09
8. Awazu Ryosuke 89 JPN JPN 1:48.34

11. Zwahlen Mirco 82 LC Regensdorf SUI 1:51.95
Boit Joseph 78 KEN KEN n.a.
Rabbit came through 400 in 51 high, Symmonds about 3rd place maybe at 52.

Moise in a race? Say it aint so Alan, say it aint so...
does anyone have a link to results from other races?
Isn't it Symmonds's first race in Europe! When did he fly over?
If he's not been here long I wouldn't read too much into it. He eased up when he knew he couldn't get passed the Brazilian.
A bit too early to write him off yet.
Good to see someone in the Webb stable running well. Will Joseph be at the World Champs(aka is that the B)?
sorry for double post but also Mike Tinsley- 48.61 in the 400h, being a 400h in the US is like being a 5000 runner for Kenya
Joseph Moise had a very nice race in that 800m impressive.
Symmonds lost to a bunch of nobodies! Where's the toughness? He is not ready for World's at the moment. Thankfully, it is a month away.

I know that's how Symmonds works best, but in this field it wasn't really possible. The Brazilian was the only elite competition and if Symmonds hung back from him, he would have been right in the thick of the crowd, could have gotten himself boxed in or been forced to run wide the whole race. He did what he needed to do during this race except for the last 70m or so.
