Geta Wami won her debut in a national and course record time of 2:22:19. She and Constantina Dita (Rom) ran side
by side for 35k and Wami pulled away at that point. The
amazing story is that Wami had bagged her season and ran only long run since May; however, 10 days before Amsterdam
her husband convinced her to run the marathon.

Men
1. Benjamin Kimutai Kosgei (Ken) 2:07:26

Benjamin lost contact at the 20k point and caught the leaders late in the race to win by 30 seconds. I am sure that Paula will now have to worry about Gete Wami in the 10k once again and the Marathon (if Gete trains specifically for it). Look for great things from PAULA and GETE on the track next year.
