Bolt ran 20.5 at age 15 and many on here did not take note and years later they were saying he came out of nowhere when he did what he did last year. Well, take note of Kirani James of Grenada who just won the Wold Youths in Italy in 45.24. He's the next big thing out of the caribbean. By the way, Yohan Blake (19) of Jamaica, went 9.96 today to finish 3rd to Gay and Powell.
Kirani James - 45.24 - 16 years old.

I saw James run today at the World Youth Championship. Wow, he was impressive. Any chance he could run in Berlin? He has the A Standard and could definitely lower his PR if he ran against the big boys.

Saw the race, too. Despite his talent and speed, he has some room for improvement with regard to his wild form.

obea ran 45.1 at age 16...
-
He looks more developed than Bolt did at 16. More muscular. Doubt he will improve as much
Thank you -
you just have to step back and say wow for these young athletes hopefully the do not become injured.

If Blake ran 9.96, wouldn't that be a world junior record?
-
apparently he's not a junior any more so it's not a WJR but it is a world age-19 best
-
no..because he turns 20 later in the year...

I think Sean Ogunkoya also ran 9.96 at 19 -
Nice run for James.
People who thought that Bolt came out of nowhere last year weren't really following the sport.
I think he caught most people's attention running sub 20 at age 17.
So is Kirani James the next Bolt or Obea Moore? -
I attended the same school as kirani and his action was terrible when i first saw him run. He has come a long way in terms of his action. But look out for him in the next olympics. The fact is that he hardly ever has competition enough to push him. He can run sub 45 secs in the 400. In the next 2 yrs he should be able to run at least 44 seconds flat but I know he will be faster than that. He is also very good at the 200. I did not get to see the races and i am searching all over for a link to see them. Does anyone know where I can watch the races?

That is almost as good as Kennedy Daughtery's 44.6 400m. Jr. Speedsters Track Club. Duncanville, TX.

Watch...this kid will end up at Florida State this fall.
