Springer will MOP the place up. He has too much talent for the rest of these wannabees. The 19 year old freshman kid will not be able to hang. The Alaska kid just doesn't have the will power. All the rest have no kick, which is what the race will come down to.
-
From what I've seen Wills has a pretty firm grip on reality...it's his fans that don't. I don't doubt that he'll run a solid race, but I'm thinking somewhere between 4th and 10th overall. His day is coming. It's just not tonight.

i think taylor gilland is out with illness
-
Verzbicas is not 19. If you've ever met the kid you can tell he's definitely 16. Springer will win, but how fast will this race actually go? I am going with 8:48.
-
Is the first kid that 25 yr old freshman? crazy.
-
Ummm... ever heard of Jordan Hasay?
-
I do not know who will win. I have watched Dunbar run a number of times this year. If he is healthy he will run 8:46 - 8:50.
-
I think Springer will take it considering he's in sub-4:00 mile shape and chose to run the 2-mile instead.
I really, really wish that Andrews, Springer, Thode, and Fleet had all chosen the mile instead of the 800 / 2-mile. I believe Springer and Fleet are ready and Andrews and Thode would have a chance to get close. -
Temperature is likely to be in upper 80s and humid here in central NC at start time. I would think 8:55 might win it.

Springer is a good bet, but I'm going with Dunbar. I think he's been planning all season to peak here. His 4:06 was really great considering he's not really a miler, and I'd say he's in about 8:45 shape. Heat might slow the race down a bit though.
Springer, Fleet, Andrews and Thode all had their shot at the mile last week. I'm glad the 2 mile once again features the deepest field. It's becoming a tradition, and seems to be a fairly good indicator as to who will be the cream of the freshman crop this fall in NCAA XC.

I was there last year and the weather was nice. Just a tad bit windy, but good running conditions. After the race I was listening to Luke Puskedra telling his dad in the bleachers, "I just couldn't hang with him anymore". Luke looked somewhat dejected, I kinda felt bad for him. -
thode in 8:38
what's with all of the freshmen in the field?
