I'm 21 years old, the youngest of three children. I have a brother who's 7 years older and a sister 5 years older, so I'm "the baby." It seems a bit silly to me that they don't want me to watch R rated movies or hear swear words when I'm old enough to buy porn, drink alcohol, etc.
Anyone else deal with this?
My parents were the same way. My father told me no swearing, drinking, or porn will ever be tolerated in this house. Then he went upstairs and yelled, "Who the F##k took a beer Sh&t on my playboy magazine"
If you act like an adult then people will start treating you like one. Buying porn and alcohol are not exactly key indicators of maturity.

I'm in my 50s and my kids are in their 20s and 30s, my folks are in their 80s. When I visit my folks, my Dad still tells me not to drink out of the milk carton and to use a cup. He tells me to shut the gate when I leave, them says how come I've never done what I was told all these years. My mom talks to me in her dialect even though she knows I can't understand it and only understand my dad's dialect. When I see my kids I tell my son to stop screwing those Jewish girls he fawns all over and find a girl from our country. I tell my two married daughters to hurry and have kids because I want grand children to spoil and play with. I guess they complain about me too ;-)
This is par for the course get used to it.

I said I was old enough to, not that I do. Even so, your statement seems pretty stupid to me as almost every adult I know drinks alcohol, and most men enjoy looking at porn, often times even more so when they're old. I've known numerous guys in their 40s, 50s, and even 60s who bought porn and went to strip clubs.

I dealt with this all the time, way after I stopped living at home or being in any way dependent on my parents.
Pretend that they have a mental disorder that's completely beyond their (and your) control. When they start acting controlling, think to yourself- oh it's the disorder acting up, I need to be understanding.
That's cause at the tender age of 21 they saw your showering and realized you had the genatalia of a 4 year old...congrats u suck
I'm 43 and my mom still wants to hold my hand when we go shopping. That was bad enough when I was 6, 12, 18, 25 but she still thinks I'm her little boy. Always will.
Yes I am also the baby, chances are you have and will continue to be spoiled because you are the baby...Sponge off Mom and Dad all you can because life isn't easy..

Your parents have it backwards. The youngest is supposed to get away with murder because the parents are burned out on discipline. Are your older siblings a little too wild or something? Perhaps your parents are overcompensating?

How do they even know what you're doing when you live on your own and fully support yourself financially?

Gimme a break. You're probably right about buying porn, but alcohol? It's probably not a good sign if a guy is buying Bankers Club by the handle, but buying alcohol in and of itself isn't a sign of immaturity. Plenty of very mature people enjoy a glass of wine or a sip of a good single malt every once in a while.

How many 21 year olds do you know enjoy some classy wine or a single malt "every once in a while". Most 21 year olds are blowing $50 a week on beer and getting piss drunk with their "boys" every chance that they get.
Please, your parents treat you like a kid because... you ARE still a kid. Espeicially if you are still living at home and buying you things. Move out, get a job, and pay all your own bills, and you will no longer be treated like a kid. Until then, you ARE.
