I'm saying 2:40 800, 45:00 10k, mainly because they are so anaerobic with no endurance training. My buddy says 2:00 and 37:00.

well, at the professional level, they do get some endurance training, but not much. ("long" runs, about 5 miles, as conditioning). i'd say 2:20 for 800 and 40:00 for 10k
Soccer players run 8-10+km/game.
They could easily run a sub 5min mile. 18-19min 5k and 41min 10k.
The 800 may be their best event. I suggest 200-205.
woops i forgot the mile and the 5k. 5:40 for a mile. 18:30 for 5k
Laurynne Chetelat used to run 30 mpw in addition to playing soccer back when she was a soccer player.
2:10, 4:50, 18:30, 40:00

Not even close, my school is a decent soccer school...we usually win sectionals, and sometimes groups, and they had 5 guys run faster than 5:20. We just had one soccer/wresting kid come out for spring track and within two weeks he ran 10:50 and 4:53
soccer players are great athletes. obviously, if they had a bit if training they could be great. when i stated these times, i meant what they would run with no running training, just soccer.
I would expect that just about any winger, central midfielder, or fullback could run in the neighborhood of 2:00 for 800m, 4:50 for one mile, and 17:30 for 5K. Center backs, strikers, and goalkeepers would be slower.
Here are the results from UK show Superstars. There is an 800m run in it.

Just checking the results - check out Ricky Hatton's 800m!
Bear in mind a lot of the 'Superstars' have retired or near end of career when they are doing the show
As supected footballers doing well. Dennis Wise who was never regarded as being that fast; 2:08 & he had retired when he did that!
Always wondered what a peak Ryan Giggs could have done for 800m

this
They run a lot, guys. Their life is basically jogging with wind sprints 3-4 hrs/day, then weights...
I hope professional players would be more capable than an above average college forward:
40yd in 4.7 (legit, on grass and not a moving start)
100m in 11.x (again, on grass)
200m in 23.x
400m in 53.x
800m in 2:01-2:02
Mile in 4:45-4:50
2 Mile - 11:25 (Cooper Test in severe August heat)
3 Mile - 17:50 (a week before Cooper Test)
6 Mile - 37:xx
I played soccer my whole life and never ran xc and the first year I ran track in high school senior year I ran 1:59 by the end of the season. 2:07 first race.
I remember running in a 5 mile race where several professional soccer players were entered. This was back in the NASL days. The sweepers and midfielders all broke 30 minutes fairly easily. The fullbacks and strikers just jogged it in 7 something pace.
So I'll put down:
800: 2:07
5k: 18:00
10k: 37:00
Dwight Yorke did a 1k in 2:37 on a Beeb programme in 2002.
You are basing their times on your times, which you THINK are fast.Ryan Bak was a soccer player.A soccer player at a HS here in the county runs track in the spring. As a sophomore he ran the 1600 in 4:24 and as a junior this year a 4:19.I think you would be surprised.

At 16 after training for 4 monthes I ran 36:00 for 10k. I would have a hard time believing that a pro soccer player couldn't breal that.
my freshmen year of high school I did track after playing soccer my whole life and usually being one of the fastest on the field. Coming out as a 15 year old i ran 56, 2:12, 4:53 and around 11:10 after xc in the fall, and indoor track.
I ended up running junior year with some better training 49 and 1:55. Now granted these are pro soccer players we're talking about and not some schmuck like me, but I think jumping in and expecting a 2:00 800 from them is a lot harder then you think. I think your "average in shape player" would probably run 2:10 and 4:40 without training for specifically for the race. And could probably do a 5k in in the 18:30-19:30.
I know a kid who just finished his junior year and has played soccer most of his life and started running track his freshman year. He's run 52.56 for 400 and 1:59.36 for 800, and he doesn't run cross country.
It's not likely that you would be offered a college scholarship unless you could go under 5:00 for the mile. The pros would be much faster than that. No exceptions unless you are a goalie.
The 10K would be interesting. I think most soccer players have too much muscle mass to be around 30. I would have a hard time believing that some of the guys wouldn't be in the 32s and 33s. Even the big guys would easily be below 40.
