...that were gift wrapped and there for the taking. You let a friggin Sprint and Jump school beat us? I guess I need to hire a Coach that can get us some sprinters and jumpers.

Unike you, Phil is a mature and intelligent human being.
He knows that NCAA titles are not easy to win.
He also knows that athletes are human beings and things happen.
He also knows that in order to win an NCAA title, first you have to rebuild and re-establish a program.
The last two years Vin and company have outperformed rebuilding expecations, and Duck alumn are happy that the program is poised again to win in the future.
Not mention two NCAA titles this year, and one last year.
I'm sure he's pretty happy actually. Did you notice the logo on the teams that finished 1st and 2nd? I belive they all had Nike checks on their shirts, shorts, shoes, and sunglasses.

Oh yeah? then why did Phil call Vin on the carpet for treating the 'much revered' Oregon Twilight meet as an optional workout last year?

Phil did not do that, troll.
My question is this: why does ANYONE give a flying f*** about team championships in track!?
You can win with just a few outstanding athletes! That's not a team!
Cross-country, now there's a team sport!
a few outstanding athletes....you mean like 5?

...that would be Martin Smith....who you fired...
Martin Smith is an abusive prick who rightfully got showed the door.
Oregon and Nike were kind to pay him off to leave and not tell the truth about what a raging prick he was.
Did you read nothing a few years ago?
A mass of alumni would not team up against a standing coach for like, no reason.
That has never happened.
Smith burned it, and earned it.
Good riddances to coaching aholes like Smith.
Lannana has built a much better foundation than Smith ever did.
Smith is a mistake... And he finally got what he deserved.
He'll crash again soon, too.
Watch for it.
MS is a prick....who gets results w/ sprinters and jumpers...e.g. 3rd in the 4x4...that would have come in handy this weekend.

This is where you are wrong. Vin is no different than Smith, as you will see. Winning is about DOLLARS, and the sooner you realize this, the more in tune you will be in this world. In time if Vin does not make OU a winning program and not get beat by teams like Texas A&M, he will be shown the door as well. You really think the Alumni had it in for Smith because of his demeanor? Wake up to the real world of MONEY and POWER.

Third in the 4x4 would have been nice but wouldn't have been much good without Galen's 20 points. Phil Knight and the old ducks want to win the way the team almost won this year which is with a Distance foundation.
I'm laughing....beautiful
Meeting just ended. Vin looks like he's missing a portion of his keister.
SPLAT!
that is what happens to flys on the wall.
Phil Knight is what any one of you jock lickers could be if you really wanted too.
Maybe that's why some here don't like him, because they really hate themselves.

Smifson, you are correct sir.
With the exception that I really don't think any of the jock lickers here could become another Phil Knight.
I agree that all the nasty tweeks on this board, in expressing their nasty, and often completely disgusting thoughts, are really expressing their own self hate...and misplaced rage (should told it to their parents).

I didn't think they were so hard to win...I even gave two back because I felt so bad about HOGGING EM' ALL!!!!

They did win two titles. I'm no duck fan, but I'm pretty sure they had a better year than any other xc/track program in the NCAA.
