It is just continued proof that US women have been out improving the men for a couple years and this male generated board is fairly ignorant to it. Last year the US 20k was hyped on this board as a "weak womens field". That same womens field created a team that out performed the men at the World Road Championships. US women are improving and most men don't want to notice.
I hope you aren't a trial lawyer because this isn't very convincing proof. The whole notion of whether American women are or are not "out improving" the men is at the very best silly. Citing the fact that the US women did better than the US men against much worse competition doesn't really advance your silly argument either. That's mostly because the idiots on the committee that selects the men's team used performances from January for a race in October and didn't seek any proof of performance from those January qualifiers closer to the race in October. Dumb people, moronic rules, idiotic outcome.

Does anyone understand how difficult it is to #1 have a young baby and train, #2 run a consistent 5 minute mile and #3 be only 5 feet tall (i.e. very short legs)???? Serena Burla is amazing and you will be hearing more from this girl...she's just coming into her prime.
This is a good result.. and shows what can happen when the race director.. eliminates the competition. There were no serious runners road racers like erkesso etc., in this race... or some of the local big stars

Have you ever looked at a vast majority of the world champions and world record holders? Most of them are tiny. Bekele and Geb are both around 5'6", and they have no problems maintaining paces much, much faster than 5 min miles.
Same think with most of the great women; Kenyans, Ethiopians, Japanese, most of them are very, very small. Smaller is better in the distance races- its more efficient. I can appreciate how hard it must be to train with a newborn, but being short is an advantage if you're a talented distance runner, not a disadvantage.
