It has really come to this. For the past few days it has been so hot and humid outside that I decided I would face the potential embarrassment of running with a fuel belt (a belt with four water bottles attached and a pouch in the front). I always thought this equipment was for old ladies training for a 10k or half marathon who needed to have water on them at all times. "What a joke," I thought. But now, here I am doing a twelve mile run with my fuel belt full of gatorade. To my surprise, I actually began to feel more elite, practicing drinking during a race, and reminding myself of the training benefits of staying hydrated throughout a run. I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience.
Do any letsrunners (most specifically elite level) train with a fuel belt or something similar?
