Best retaliation to getting yelled at while running

The best is when fat people or punks jog next to you trying making fun of you. Running with exagerrated style.

When this happens slow down and run up behind them and accidentally "tap" the back of their heal on their back stride.

They will fall flat on their face.

not funny...if you live in the DC area, running cross country, and not beign able to train outside for two weeks thanks to the threat...

I'm not sure if driving off qualifies as theft of services, but my guess is they have your car and license plate on their security camera. Better revenge would have been to actually go inside or call and ask for the manager and make sure they were punished. Then, make sure to write a letter to the owner.

A lot of the harrassment that I get seems to be garbled because the morons do not realize that yelling out a car window while driving 35-60 mph makes it difficult to decipher. My running partner and I judge the remarks along the dimensions of 1. clarity, 2. originality, and 3. humor. My primary comeback is the finger. The best comebacks are usually the one you think of a mile later.

I just yell, "Oh Yeah!" Hits them right where they live.

When in doubt (or time is a factor) make reference to the harasser's mother.

For example, harasser yells, "Run, pussy!" You respond with "You must be mistaking me for your mom!"

Or, harasser chides, "Nice tights, fag!" Your response would be, "Your mom likes the way they make my cock look!"

Likewise, harasser screams, "Run, Forrest!" You retort, "That's just what your mom screams while I'm throwing to her!"

I also find it helpful to tell all offenders to, "Get back to the $%#@ing trailer park!"

I would venture to guess that most of the time, when someone yells something to you while you're running, they are just trying to get a rise out of you.

If you respond to them with something stupid (like most of the dumb responses in this thread already), you're doing exactly what they want. In their mind, they got the best of you because they managed to piss you off to the point where you come back with a lame response and make yourself look stupid.

The best way to deal with it is to not say anything. Put yourself in their shoes for a minute. If you were yelling out stuff to someone to get a rise out of them and they didn't respond or look in your direction whatsoever, you'd probably be a little pissed. More than likely, the person yelling out the dumb comments to the runner would think to themselves..."Damn, they didn't even hear me..." OR "Damn, they probably thought that I was yelling at someone else."

Either way, you're not giving them the benefit of showing your emotions.

Now, if however, you think of a good comeback "a mile down the road" and just so happen to bump into these d-bags later on in the day (i.e. when you're not running), by all means...go ahead and let them have it. They'll be caught off guard and think to themselves..."Shit, that really came back to bite me in the ass." If you don't see them again...then so be it. You still got the best of them.

I had a red-neck actually try to stop his big compensation 4x4 and fight me once.

I was running down a country road and this guy decided to pass a Semi Truck (I was on the left sholder). He was going arround 80mph and nearly clipped me from behind. I could have touched his truck as he went by. I gave him the usual greeting aka "the bird" and thought that would be the end of it. He actually pulled over about a 1/2 mile down the road and waited for me. As I ran by he yelled something like "you got a problem?" I told him to watch where he was going and he proceeded to call me a pussy and try to chase me down the road in his boots and big hat. Possibly the funniest thing I have ever seen. He got back in his truck and buzzed me again. Boy do I love red-necks!!

Some smoking red neck asked where I was running to in my tight sissy shorts last week and I replied "to your mother's house to shave my initials in her back again." Needless to say, I was on a planned out and back run, but after about 20 "f*ck yous" and "I'll kill you" I decided to find another route back to the car. But it was worth it.

If they are goin like 40 you have time to grab a stone an whip it, I have dented tons of cars and broke a window. Also my favorite is catching up with a car that someone yelled at me from at a stoplight and walking up to it and asking them why it was so funny to yell at me, while talking to them I whip out my junk and piss on the car. Expect retaliation though, I once had a cup of pop from Wendys thrown out of a window of on coming traffic that hit me square in the chest in about 10 degree weather. Chances are I was asking for it.

I think the best response is to spit defiantly in their direction. It works best when you kind of see it coming and have a good one at the ready. Then right in the middle of their taunt you just let fly. That pretty much lets them know what you think of them without even having to say a word.

After being called a fag I chased down a car with a stick once (it was a high traffic road and he was stuck at a light), and started winding up as if I was going to bash in his windows. He quickly apologized, I shrugged, dropped the stick and ran off. Probably the greatest moment of my life... sigh
