What would you say to someone after they bombed at regionals?

shit happens
Sorry you bombed.
Nothing......
no one really cares anyway?
thanks for sucking so bad dawg
quite honestly it is best to leave people alone after they race and if they try talking to you and feel bad for themselves you then have permission to talk shit. Never let a runner throw a pity party for themselves its weak shit.
I like this line: "Two things make a champion: Defeat and hard work."
pat the person on the back and say "we've all been there"
You'll get 'em next time, bro.
"It's better to look good than to feel good."
If you want to succeed, double your failure rate.
"At least you made it to regionals".
OR
"Regionals was YOUR nationals".
How about those..insert name of favorite sports teams?
hey...increase your stride rate next time. your Q angle is terrible. synch your breathing with your head bob. look at my armswing - you should change your armswing to look like mine.

It's not the first time anyone has had a bad day. It will not be the last.

Thanks for sharing that line. I just made it a personal favorite of my coaching life. Only I'll use it before the season begins rather than after races :-). Most athletes just need a few minutes of space after a bad race.
