For the 5k or 10k portion, how fast do some of the better female triathletes run?
Damn fast, like a regional level triathlete woman would run like a 1:27 half marathon for fun.

Emma Snowsill runs 33-34 off the bike most races. If she chose to I'm sure she could win the Australian titles at 10k and also XC off her tri training. Erin Densham, Australia's 3d rep at the OG's also represented Aus at this year's World xc, finished 59th.
She couldn't win Oceanic trials!

Back when Carol Montgomery of Canada was a professional triathlete, she went sub 32:15 for the 10k.
mid 14's for a 5K, high 29's for a 10K
