Anybody use a Lydiard sharpening workout late in the season with some success? An example: 50m @ a fast pace w/ 50m steady (or some variation?)
When would you use this and what is the common recovery time for such a workout?
Would something like 100m "on"/100m "off" or a Daniel's 200m @ rep pace w/ 200m jog work better?
Have a big 3200m on Friday, looking for something for a 9:43 two-miler to sharpen him. Plan on doing the workout tomorrow with a medium aerobic effort (8-9 miles) at recovery to aerobic Wednesday and 4 miles @ recovery on Thursday.
