So I have a training plan written up for the summer which assumed I would be at roughly sea lever (700 ft) over the summer. However, it now seems I will be spending a month at altitude (3 weeks at 8000 ft, 1 week at 5000 ft) and neither my coach nor myself have much experience with altitude. Should I scale back from my planned mileage while I'm at altitude? Scale back the intensity of each run? Cut out some morning doubles?
Since it's summer the planned intensity isn't terribly high and the planned mileage ranges from high 70's to mid 80's for the weeks I'll be at altitude.
