just got back home from watching the meeting of rabat (i live in rabat, it's not over yet, but i watched all the races that i am interested in), i watch very excited and expected to see her run away from the rest of the field and win in a flying 1m55sec but i was very disapointed, pamela jelimo just got her ass beaten in a relatively slow 800m race (2m:03s.something), she looked completely out of shape, she finished 4th.
i believe this is the 1st time she's ever been beaten in an 800m
She has lowered her dosage of CERA, the Ramzi fiasco made her paranoid. Nice to see her get crushed for once.

Hmmmm..... let's think about this for one second.
The woman was a mediocre sprinter who came out of NOWHERE last year to not just win but DOMINATE every 800 meter race she entered. I believe she is the third fastest woman at 800 meters ever at this point (behind two other dirty runners). Oh yeah, all of this happened while she was just "19" years old.
Imagine a white European sprinter running 21.xx for the 200 and 46.xx for the 400. Now imagine he decided to "move up" in the 800 and ran 1:43 at his first go at the event and improved to 1:42.00 at the end of the season. EPO accusations would be flying all over the place. People are too PC to call out black Afriacans even when the cheating is blatant and obvious. "She's a genetic freak!" "She trains at altitude!" Please. This woman disgusts me. I look forward to the day when she is finally busted for PEDs. She is just as dirty as the Soviets of the 1980s and Chinese runners of the 1990s. Get a clue people!

I didn't follow the progress of Jelimo but in the scenario mentioned people would be even more skeptical if the example athlete slipped to 1:48 the following year.

sorry i thought she finished 4th but apparently she gave up when she lost the first 3 positions and any potential modeal, so actually she finished 6th, and when i said about 2m 03sec i was talking about jelimo's time, the race was won in 2:01.78. to see the results of all the races you can go here:

2.02 in women's 800 seems okey at this time in the season.Maybe there is a reason why she had an off day.I have to say however that i have been examining her recent pics at IAAF website and in the kenyan papers and have noticed that she looks much slimmer ( the muscle are gone).I have also realised that she recently ran 4.18 for 1500m which was a clear indication that she is not in a sub 2.00 shape for 800.
We are talking about 8 seconds slower in an 800. That is a ton. Imagine if Alan Webb would have run a 1:51 outdoors the year after he ran 1:43.
We will have clearer answers next weekend when she runs in the Kenya Police championships competing in the 800 and 1500.She will also be competing in Oregon on the 7th of June.
I would like to hear Renato Canova's opinion on this developement.He is in a unique position and usually has first hand info on kenyan athletes.

Frank Shorter is much slower than he used to be.
She's also very young supposedly. Generally you can carry over form a bit better at those ages than when stuff starts to go wrong as it did with Webb).
I any event we are talking about a top runner here, not Webb or Teg...
She cancelled her indoor appearances due to an achilles injury in January.
