Going anywhere interesting?
Not taking a big trip this year due to unexpected expenses over the last year, but we are taking a couple shorter ones. One to Sleeping Bear Dunes in Michigan and then perhaps a trip to Tucson, AZ (seems like an expensive trip, but we'll fly if I can get cheap tickets (and I think we can) and then stay rent-free at a relative's house (she lives in Wisconsin in the summer) and with friends there.
So, going anywhere fun?
I'm going to Europe during the month of June. My friend and I decided we should celebrate our youth by going to Europe and playing "I've heard of that, lets go there."

Oregon and Washington for about a month this summer.
I only get 10 days vacation per year, and due to the recession, my company is having mandatory shutdowns for the 4 days near July 4th, and 4 days near Christmas. Luckily for me, I have to work that July 4th week since it is quarter end, so I can use my vacation when I want. I'm going on a baseball trip with some college XC buddies. Baltimore, Philly, NYY, NYM, and then Boston, with the US Open Golf in the middle of the NYs.
We did STL, KC, MIN, MIL, CHC, CHW, CLE, and CIN the week after graduation 2 years ago.

That is a cool idea. I'd like to visit and watch a game at a few MLB baseball stadiums someday.
I'm going to Tokyo, Japan towards the end of August for a week. First international trip for me as well.
Jamaica for 7 days and nights with the lady friend. Staying at an all inclusive resort in Ocho Rios and have no intention of gathering any cultural experience from the trip. Just going to relax, drink, eat, and probably not run.
flagpole, have you ever once posted something that isn't about money? it's never oh i'm taking my family to the beach, it's got to be oh we're going to the mountains and we found this great deal blah blah blah. maybe i'm just young, but i pity your obsession with thrift. i hope your summer vacation turns out to be a good value.

Nothing wrong with maximizing his utility / $ spent.
I'm hoping to go to Mexico - with luck it will be as cheap as anything for tourists.
We were thinking of going to Spain next month to coincide with a conference for my wife, but that's been cancelled, so we're looking into other options. We'll fly in to Europe somewhere, then travel around mostly by train, randomly exploring stuff. At the moment, Zurich is the cheapest flight, so we might go hiking in Switzerland, moving nomad-like from one hostel to another. If I can convince my wife to go along with it. We'll see. :-)
Wait...I thought we were all going to LetsRun camp? I was looking forward to bunking with txRg.

I will not be going on a vacation. But I will be climbing some mountains. Every day is a vacation in the PNW.
Spending 9 days cruising up the coast of British Columbia on a friend's yacht. Fishing, snorkling, whale watching and swimming in Desolation Sound. Hoping to get into Princess Louisa Inlet. It'll be difficult to get much running in on this trip, but will be able to go for some nice scenic hikes.
May take an off-season trip to Maui.

I'm just a prudent guy, and when you've got a family of 4 on one income, and you have the philosophy I do about not acquiring any kind of debt other than a mortgage, then you need to consider the costs of things. It's not an obsession with thrift though brother. We can take vacations at all because we aren't in debt and have to pay interest to anyone.
Buying a second home on Cape Cod. We'll spend a few weeks there. Not exactly "rent free," but it's a good time to buy and we can enjoy this place for many years.
