Let's be honest - Baala was not robbed of a medal

I hope they stored Baala's sample, because I but he's on something too.

He was not taking something as good as Willis or Kiprop. It will be interesting to know what has happned to their samples.

I dont think Willis has it in him to take that risk for New Zealand. Knowing what the mile means to them, the devastation of a dirty 1500m medalist would be to much for that Oceanic nation.

If he were a white Frenchman called Jacque LaRogue or something he would be clean. However, this seemingly non-white man (France has colonial connections with Algeria, so I'm assuming he's Algerian or of that descent) who has shown a fair level of consistency since at least 2000 is obviously dirty.

By the way, Algeria is in north Africa, and the natives of that region are Caucasian. Their skin tends to shade a bit darker maybe, but Caucasian for the ill-informed means white. So people's racism is getting ridiculous since they're deciding that to qualify for whiteness you have to be a lighter shade of pale.

Algerian ancestry, but born in France. OTOH, all frogs are dirty, so that doesn't help.

Baala is White. Persians are Caucasians. Most are Muslims. Some are Jews, Zorastrians, Christians.

You'd think they'd be happy! I mean, look, with Ramzi sure to be tossed from the 1500 results, that means that two of the three medals go to white people! The whites are almost to the top! Just one single black man in the way... hmmmm white against black that'd be a new one...

Okay, listen. I want to believe you. It probably isn't actually about race, but it looks like it when you don't give a reason to believe he's a doper.

With Ramzi, he improved 9 seconds from 3.39 ("Olympic B standard at best") to 3.30 ("OMG one of the best around") in a year. He went from nobody to two WC medals a year later, pulled a Viren and disappeared for a while, then came out and took WC silver followed by Olympic gold.... soooo, maybe the signs were there all along, and people on this board have been all over him since at least 2005.

So why does Baala warrant suspicion?

I say he doesn't, as his results are fairly consistent. 4th in Oly 00, Euro champ 02, silver WC 03, f'd up in the heats 04, made the 800 final 05, Euro champ 06, (decided to throw someone 07), 4th and now probably 3rd 08.

No ridiculous drop in time after an age where it might be expected (teens/ early twenties)

So why? I just want to know.

As an American, I would be the first to be wary of a ridiculous time coming from an American sprinter. It's not about the citizenship. I can't think of a headlining american distance runner busted for ped's and unfortunately those across the pond have. They also routinely kick our ass so if anything its jealousy not race.
