I'm a newbie running enthusisast looking for race strategy advice, and you guys have been good to me so far! I'm planning on doing a 5k in a couple of weeks, the profile is the first mile a light net downhill, mile two quite a bit downhill, and mile three is ALL climbing. Some real good climbing as well as some steady grades make up the entire last 1.1m!
Is it recommended to try and run a race like this even throughout, or go ahead and try to steal some time early, settle in to save something, then gut it out at the end?
What has been successful for you?
