No, he's not making a joke, he's putting to rest a story that was being talked about quite a bit, including a reference from the Associated Press. I don't think anyone really thought Kara would end up doing London but she herself said she wanted to do it, and that she felt physically capable of it.

Once Associated Press picked it up, it was being reported all over, including by "Sports Illustrated." It needed to be addressed.

Yea I thought she should have run that marathon in Holland first. It was like what a week before Boston. Then she would have been in great position to run Boston. Then this week fly to London and race another 26 miles there. I think Salazar would have been very comfortable with that schedule for his athlete.
