I just read that Dan Lincoln is up in Portland, That is the best news I've heard for a while. It's a shame he lost the last few years of running for med school but he has his own priorities. How fast will he run this year? I would say 8:15 would be a good time in his first year back with consistent training.

the talk of the 4xMile is almost as interesting if not more than hearing lincoln will be with schumacher's group, although that's kind of encouraging to hear also. schumacher definitely has a solid core group of talented runners. jager's been pretty consistent, although i haven't seen/read him run anything more than a mile. i know he ran high 3:41 a week or two ago, but i'm curious what his distance stamina is like, as far as 3k-5k. i'm sure we'll find out in the future. i also wasn't aware that solinsky was injured in december, but i guess he's fine now since he ran 3:43 a couple weeks ago.
The whole article was great news for US Distance running really, Hopefully Schumacher does a great job with these guys and we can get more groups in Portland. Then maybe the US can get a much deeper team from the 800 to the Marathon for future world championships and Olympics. If Dan Lincoln gets back into his old form we will have someone that can contend for a medal.
that's great news! that's an amazing group of athletes and with Nike's great resources it should help take them far.

Does this mean that he finished med school or is he on another hiatus? There was a flotrack interview more than a year ago where he mentioned he was currently doing residency. I noticed that the article didn't refer to him as Dr. Dan Lincoln. Regardless, good to see him back...

he should be lauded for going to medical school, but when you're the American record holder in the steeple, time to strike while you still have that capability. This is a great training group for him. Solinsky and Teg, when healthy, could very well push him to drive that record down to 8:05.
That's great and all, but the question is whether or not Teg will run a 10k?

though not an international championship event, we have a slug of guys right now who should run in the mid-low 7:30's for 5K.

Fam showed last weekend he is in good shape. But just like last year or the previous year when he ran 13:11 and went on to do squat it doesn't mean much. Hopefully They both run low 8:10's somewhere. That would be awesome.

people often bash goucher like he has been lost since y2K, but he has had some big moments since then.
just for what it's worth, i saw lincoln rolling about 5 minute pace on the bike path in madison, wi about 4 weeks ago - although quite a few people run the path, lincoln is unmistakable and the fact he was wearing an arkansas shirt sort of puts it in the bag.... and man was he hauling! not sure if that means anything, just pointing it out.
