A week ago I tweaked a tendon in my foot so I\'m supposed to take a week off from impact related training. I\'ve begun using an elliptical trainer as it seems the closest thing to running without impact. I put the elliptical on a height of 1-3/10 and resistance of 7-9 for my regular workouts. However, when I use it my RPM\'s are between 220-250. This seems a bit too fast, even unnatural, but slower seems like im not getting enough turnover, and if I use more resistance it seems like hiking or something and I cant really get my HR up much.
What types of RPM\'s and resistance are you supposed to use for ellipticals to get an adequate cross training workout? Just for reference I\'m in high school and my times are 4:16, 9:16 so I\'m in pretty good shape
