Least: Marathon

Are talking people who have been busted or people who "we know" are on drugs?
Unfortunately in raw performance sports like running, weightlifting, etc.. drugs will always been extremely useful.
However, in theory the marathon may be the event that least benefits drug users because efficiency is the most crucial element, as opposed to some shorter events.
The steeplechase is another event where drug use may be less of advantage because technique and intangibles are important and drugs aren't really so helpful with those things.
But yeah drugs help in all events.
I don't think the marathon has had the least. Maybe the 800-3000m steeple, where steroid strength and EPO/blood doping aren't quite as important.

Are you serious? OF COURSE of the people we know about. Everyone else you can't count because you don't know.
This is so annoying, if the people don't test positive, then how can you assume they're positive? Because they're fast? That's idiotic...
Yeah right. How many thousand test did Marion Jones pass? We all now know for a fact that she was juiced to the gills throughout the testing.
I'd probably agree with your assessment here, mostly because EPO has not been available all that long, while anabolic steroids have been availabe for over 40 years. However, even back in the Lasse Viren's days, they knew about blood doping (although that's not drugs, it is now illegal to do).
And I know the thread is about running events, but let's not forget about how many shotputters and hammer throwers have been caught in the last 5 years or so. It's been pretty amazing.
