I'm about to purchase a Nike speed and distance monitor watch/foot pod (I know the fitsense one is cheaper, and I really shouldn't consider this a factor, but I won't buy the fitsense speedometer because it looks absolutely ridiculous). I was hoping anyone with experience (not having read about it, but having used one a bit) with one could give me some info on their experiences. I am a collegiate runner who will be at 75 miles/week for the last month of summer and a good part of xc season. I want to use the SDM mostly for doing threshhold work off the track (tempo runs and cruise intervals) and for being able to pace myself a little better when my team does intervals on grass with nothing marked but the start and the finish. Also, I have a leg length discrepancy and run with a small insert in my left shoe to correct for this. How would that effect the accuracy of the SDM? If you've used one of these devices, especially for similar purposes, I'd be really grateful to hear some input before making this large purchase.
Thanks.
