Holy crap does anyone have a video of this?? I would love to see that last lap of 15 teams...
-
1 heat or 2?
12 guys within 2 secs of the win (of a race that fast)?!
even if it was 2 heats thats insane!!! -
15 teams hitting auto in 1 race???? damnnnn.
-
Just posted this on the ND Start Lists thread:
Just got off the phone with the Tech Coach (Ben Thomas). UVA won the first heat, Virginia Tech won the second section. Splits for Tech were 2:55 (Judge), 47.5 (Vaughn), 1:49.1 (Witt), 3:57.9 (Berlin). Unbelievable efforts for them and the other 14 teams that went auto.
As they do every year, Notre Dame divides the entries into two "equal" heats to give as many teams as possible the opportunity to hit a good time. Apparently it worked. -
Flotrack is there ...
-
how will they run this event at the national meet with so many teams? it would really suck to have a two-section final.

I didn't see anything that covered this in either the championship handbook or the rule book. Hard to think there is any sort of fair breaking point with the tiny spread of the field. -
If there is a very thin spread of the field then a two-heat final is more fair, relatively.

I would love to see an 18 team roller derby of a dmr, that would be entertaining.

I second this opinion.
Hell, maybe they would actually show the whole thing on TV too if this were the case. Either way, it would be mayhem, which would be intensely entertaining. -
How many anchors ran under 4:00 for 1600?
-
Ben Hubers of Indiana had a lead going into the 1600 and lead all the way until about 250 to go...they finished 6th so potentially 5 guys ran sub 4:00 in the 1st heat, and the 2nd heat was just as nasty so it's possibly to have had 6-8 guys do that.
8 made it in the 1st heat and 7 made it in the second heat. -

The results are incorrect. That should say "Cornell B" as i didn't run.
The team was Owen Kimple (256.9), Nick Huber (47.9), Andrew Levy (149.1), Andy Miller (400.9).
I'm proud of my boys.
Sincerely,
Mr. Peepers
PS. This isn't really jimmy but I'm a friend of his. -
I saw several athletes running on the inside line. The cones were placed too far inside the inner lane and some of the runners were able to run far closer to the inner lane than would have been possible had a pole been in place.
Cones don't keep the race honest when they are placed OFF of the track as they were in this race. Just look at the videos to verify.
