Hideki Kita (born September 28, 1952) is a retired male long-distance runner from Japan. He set his personal best (2:21:37) in the men's marathon event on 1983-08-14 in Helsinki.
Great pics. Thanks for the link.
Who's the 4th woman runner in those pix, besides Rowbury, Donohue, and Flanagan?
Where are they in Mexico?
Obviously: To drink the water.

Response: Obviously: To drink the water.
Dude, come on.
Erin is cute. I don't know why that's news to anyone. She's not the usual stick figure favored on here, but she is cute.
Jesse Carlin is the newest addition to Team Cook
Manzano fits in really well down there.
it looks like elite runners aren't minimalists... It looks like they only break out the flats for speedwork like most normal runners.
on a different note, the weather looks really nice.
According to the hurdles in the pictures, they appear to be at La Loma Centro Deportivo
somewhere in there it said San Luis Potosí, a state high up on the Sierra Madre Oriental (the same range has a number of peaks higher than anything in the continental US). Where the town/track is, I guess we can only look at the hurdles...
why are they in mexico?
yes because the fact that these 3 runners in this series of pictures only seemed to break out the flats for speedwork...elite runners as a rule are not minimalists...(not saying I think all elite runners are minimalists, just saying how impressed I am with the logic)

They are in Mexico to train at altitude during the winter months without having to worry about the dangers of training with snow and ice on the ground.
Not an option anywhere in the US.
This is the info on their training camp.
1) Where is La Loma?
La Loma is perfectly situated in the outskirts of the colonial city of
San Luis Potosi. We’re a 3 1/2 hour ride from Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey or take a plane. You can reach us from the US from Houston, Dallas, and Chicago with direct flights. Nowadays, San Luis Potosi is considered a modern city with 600.000 habitants.
2) What’s the altitude?
Surrounded by higher mountains with trails, the altitude of La Loma is 1900 meters or 6.233 feet
