Can anyone recommend a heart rate monitor with the most comfortable strap? I've tried Polar and Nike, but they press and bruise my sternum. I've tried different solutions to alleviate the problem (strap below sternum, cotton wool), but then the signal may not get picked up/or be inaccurate. I end up not even using the HRMs (but I'd like to). The strapless monitors look like they're not accurate.
So if anyone has a recommendation, I'd appreciate it.

Did you use a cheap plastic Polar unit or the newer Wearlink® ?
The Wearlink® is flexible and quite comfortable if you don't have it too tight.

Ok, thanks for the suggestion. My Polar HRM was an older, basic model (before I had the Nike), so it sounds like they've improved them. Do you buy the strap separate from the watch? I have a small chest, so with my previous straps I'd have to make them tight so the sensors would be against the skin and pick up the signal (and ultimately, the plastic part in the middle would bruise the sternum). But it looks like the middle part of the Wearlink clips onto the strap, so it's not pressing in the middle.
I've checked out watches, and I'm leaning towards either the Polar RS200 or the Suunto T3c. Both seem to have mixed reviews, but they have the features I'm looking for. Any input?
