I have a pair of flats that I love--New Balance 330--that I just discovered is out of stock at every running store in Nashville. I'm running the Rocket City Marathon on Saturday in Huntsville and I won't have time to replace them. I bought a new pair of flats but I don't think they'll take. They seem a tad heavier than my old ones and I'm obsessive about that. What's the downside in running in my old flats? I've probably logged close to 200 miles in them, but in my last run--16 miles, 12 at marathon pace,--I felt fine during and after the run. Should I go with the new but slightly heavier shows...or the old and light ones? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
