The "Shox" are rock hard.(Won't squeeze when I try to make it.) When I take the insole out it is hard as a rock underneath.
Is there a way to soften them up?
Are they just this way becuase of the cold weather?

Nike Shox arent meant to be a serious running shoe. It's more of a gimmick than anything.
I think you should get some new shoes if you can.

The truth. Nike is a marketing machine.
Look at how thick the midsole under the forefoot is. Pretty thin, right? Thats because the only think between your foot and the ground is a chunk of f***in rubber and a cheapo sock liner
Also, you nitwits need to keep this in mind - those giant "shox" need some weight on them to work. For instance if I could put my Ford Explorer shocks on my Toyota Corolla, I would be in for a hard ride.
So, to help some of you who cannot make the next logical leap (and it is fairly obvious that most here cannot). If you put a 100lb HS freshman in a pair of Shox that were designed for someone weight 200lbs you are going to be in for a hard ride.

Wait... You run in the Shox?
Really???
Yes I reallt run in Shox. I don't know if has anything to do with them being shox besides the fact that the shox might be "froze". Becuase my last 2 pairs of running shoes were shox and they felt awesome with no injuries.
A lot of shoes are like this - they need gimmicks to sell.
My daughter really wanted them, so we let her even though we knew they were mostly hype. After turning her ankle 4 times I wore them just to see if it was a physical problem of hers or the shoes. I'll be darned if I didn't turn my ankle 10 minutes into my run and, I am a pretty stable runner!! They are not worth it, they are awkward and feel like tanks!

You can fit into your daughter's shoes?
Women and men have different footsizes, sounds obvious right...
But maybe she is a mother, and can fit into her daughter's shoes. You're teen years may have felt a while back, but most teens' feet stop growing around age 10-14.
My dad often used my old running shoes to do gardening in. They got really dirty and he didn't feel guilty after throwing them away after a few uses.
kobe wears lowtops
turning your ankle is a matter of chance/being a dumbass
UH YEAH... she's 14.
