Congrats to Bucknam and the Arkansas guys. The post-McDonnell era at Arkansas is going to be a battle with all the critics out there. It would be difficult for any coach to take over the program. They are off to a good start.

The Lassiter school record was also set on an oversized track...

You run with what you have and who shows up in and on whatever conditions on any given day, and none of us know who may have tapered or who didnt for this race. Its early and means nothing, time will tell

Thats unreal, nice job boys.. in a way its a bit sad to see that record go, they were really great guys,lassiter, huffman, stanley and power, they were legends of the sport,that whole team was amazing, and the guys for a few years after, amazing team spirit,it was great to go to indoor nats and the crowd there was wild(im not a hog but always loved the place and running against those guys was one way for sure to get the best out of you), i remember watching the team pulling huge points in the two last events to win the indoor title,in the 3k(i think) they had loaded up but there guys were out of it and it looked like the title was gone, at the same time the pole vault was goin on and the team that looked like beating them had a great guy in it,but he fluffed his lines in it and at the same time the hogs got rolling in the race and the place went nuts,the whole crowd was just so into it.. amazing stuff... ha my details are a bit shady but if u drank as much as i did(as did eveyone at the after nat party at ryan travis house) ur memory would be shot too!! great times.. is it still as good at indoors these days?

Rupp's not a miler. This is just a little speedwork for him. How about Kara Goucher last night? Now, she's got some range.

Kara has a range like she should if she is going to be competitive in the marathon on the world stage.... Haile had a great range from 800 on up...

so a 3:54 1600 leg, huh? Very impressive. Anyone have the exact split? If 3:54 high, and it would be a 3:56 mile, and with a running start..... it would still not be faster than what German just ran.

Just watched the vid, very nice. Couple questions, the dude with the flashing light, was he marking the 1/4's and what was up with running in the second lane on the one side of the track? Is this something they just do at UW or is the track in need of repair?

The oval measures (I AM NOT KIDDING) 307 meters. It is a nightmare. No one can figure out their laps - forget the guy running around the track with a red flashing light to signal a 400 meter mark or a baton exchange zone. The medley relays were basically a free-for-all. There are no bleachers or spectator seating in the facility; spectators must watch from the INFIELD and are encouraged to BRING THEIR OWN FOLDING CHAIRS.
