I know letsrun just loves guys like GF, but the kid isn't going to win, let alone run sub 4:00. He is extremely talented, but talent will only take you so far. Lack of training and lack of intelligent training will slow times down.
This is as disappointing as it is exciting for me. Im amazed by his run but it has also confirmed my suspicions that his "injury" at NCAAs was mental rather than physical.
wow, Goober, what a horrible mind you have!

"confirmed"? There are many injuries that can knock you out of a race, but heal quickly given proper rest and treatment. Your statement confirms my opinion that you are ignorant.
Clearly he was hurt at nationals and not faking, but he is young and bounced back. He was clearly in a lot of pain and couldn't finish the race, but the injury was clearly not as bad as most people first thought and he has bounced back very well indeed.

Clearly your trying to make your point very clear.

I agree. It's like the NFL receivers who screw up, but then lie on the grass, feigning injury to play off their mistake. German was ready to drop off the pace badly so he fell over. Too bad, because he is a great talent.
How is that, "too bad"?
Huh?
Maybe, say, he keeps running. Maybe, say, he injures himself in a way that won't heal so fast. Maybe, say, he finishes like 15th.
This is way more impressive that, maybe, say, him finishing 15th if he toughs out XC.
You sir need to be slapped.

yes, based on how slowly he was passing runners during the 2nd half of the race, i agree...
