Has anyone been using these regularly for training and racing for road racing rather than dus and tris? What do you think?

I've wondered that too, plus your handle made me grin -- Cherry Popping Daddies.
Not worth the money. Even if you're a triathlete, its not worth the money. Our store carried the full line, we sold maybe 15 units and 7 of them came back. Most of them after heir first race.
Were reasons given for the returns??
they were just sold to K2
looks like the owners made out like bandits! good for them, but i have to wonder what the heck K2 was thinking
Poor fit, lots of blister issues, shoes falling apart after less than 20 miles on them... just an all around poorly made shoe.
Like cyclists, tridorks are notorious for overspending on gear. Even K2 could figure that one out. A company with a brand that offers a full range of apparel (wetsuits, swim caps, shoes, shorts, tops) for tris and dus should continue to do well.
No wonder runningwarehouse is offering them with such huge discounts off msrp!

Hopefully they'll show up on the racks at Marshalls, Ross, or TJ Maxx and I can give them a try for $30. Did the purchasers tend to be heavy? Maybe they are just hard on shoes and thus would be tougher on something that's designed more for performance.
Unlike all of you here, I actually own a pair and used them in 4 triathlons last season. They worked great for me and will buy a pair this year. If you don't do Tri's then you don't need them. You get your money out of them at the beginning of the run after being on a bike for 26+ miles (that is for the pansey who mentioned "tridorks").
The reason you see them discounted is that the 2009 series is coming at the end of the month and the retailers have to make room in their inventory (take a business class and you will learn about these things).
Some of them were heavier, but most were about average. At least a couple of the returns were from veteran triathletes who had similar problems as the other returns.
On the whole, its not the worst shoe I have ever laid eyes on, but it is in no way worth $130, and don't expect them to last too long.
WTF is a "pansey?"
Grind out 92 miles a week on the crete in those and get back to me with the results. Keep it in the Nimbus.
