Not quite the entire team, but 13 members of a Cypress soccer (football) team will be facing doping charges based on anabolic steroid use. The team's coach and trainers are included in the number to face allegations of doping.

Latest FIFA rankings: U.S. #22, Cyprus #94. -
why not lance ? giambi got away with it and just signed with oakland again. you can lance and get off scot free anywhere now.

Cyprus would still beat usa fir such a big country you are terrible at soccer ,Thank god you guys got baseball american football . American colleges give scholerships to anybody decent at soccer in europe americans just dont have it ,

There seems to have been an outbreak of really fractured writing in English on this message board and it's not just by the guy starting all the Will Smith threads.

Being ranked 11th in the world is not terrible. As a matter of fact, it is quite good considering the amount of attention soccer gets in this country. To say Cyprus soccer is better than US soccer simply because they're soccer crazy over there is naive. -
clearly Haha1 did not receive a scholarship to an American college.

America are ranked 22nd in the world romania are just ahead of them . All im saying is America do not have a good soccer team they will be lucky to make it to the world cup .And for the person who said i didnt get a scholership your right i didnt get one for soccer i got it for athletics .

The US is the top ranked team in CONCACAF and since three go from that region, they'll almost certainly qualify for the world cup. Once there, they probably have about an even chance of making it out of the first round. -
I find it funny how you wont admit that usa are bad especially for the population of the country and size .Can any of you just admit they are not near as good as they should be . They were ranked 8th in 2005 they have just gone down hill from there

I don't think they are really falling short of expectation. No one expects anything. Or cares. -
ONce Reyna, and Friedel left it was downhill from there. A solid Keeper and an amazing central midfielder. Claudio Reyna made the All-World Cup team in 02. Friedel was GK of the year in the EPL that same year I think. (not sure on yr) Donovan sucks ass!! A new wave is coming though. Jose Altidore, Freddy Adu, and Bradford are all pretty good and very young. All they need is some defenders to step up. If Tim Howard could catch the damn ball he would be legit.

In April of 2006 the USA was #4 in the FIFA rankings--a statistic that makes the BCS bullsh&t seem legitimate. There is no way in any of those years the states should have been in the top twenty, unless somebody was maybe hoping to continue to develop interest in soccer in the US? Hmm...conspiracy maybe? -
Interesting that the U.S. performs as well as it does, considering we are quite likely last among all nations in caring at all about soccer.

Yeah, but we don't give a shit, get it? We are not a nation of soccer hooligans who go flipping cars over and burning down neighborhoods just cause our local team lost. Hell, I couldn't even tell you where the nearest pro soccer team is. It's like me going up to Arnold Schwarzenegger and saying "I could kick your ass in a 5k, Arnold!"
And keep working on polishing up those English skills, the subject-verb disagreement is getting kind of painful. -

Calling out (obvious) second language speakers for their inability to speak English is pretty pathetic -- are you fluent in reading and writing in another language on a message board?
