What do i do with my life (post college)?

It costs a fair amount (I think $600), but I always recommend that people go to Johnson O'Connor (

) to get their aptitudes tested. It's not a preference survey or whatever; they actually figure out your innate aptitudes and suggest college majors or careers based on that.

I used them when I changed careers and my kids have also done the testing. Very helpful and sometimes quite surprising.

Regardless of which job you chose you might what to change course in 10-15 years. That seems to be the norm these days. Don't be afraid to pick a career now and change it later.

I've 45 and have am now on my third career. My first career was engineering, I was a manager of 35 people when I left.

My second career was in mainly construction forensics, for a company I helped part-time started a new business in involving green/sustainable building design.

My current career is as a specialty consultant in green/sustainable building design.

I would say you've had the same career but different jobs. I mean, those to me seem pretty related. It's like an accountant saying he's had three careers: public accounting, controller, CFO. Well, those are all accounting related so they're not really three careers.

This is how I felt when I got toward the end of my economics degree and didn't have any real work experience. I tried taking science classes thinking I wanted to do medicine or pharmacy. My grades were just average in those. Like 3.1 average with the highest being 3.5 and three classes in the high 2s. I didn't feel strongly about medicine or pharmacy at the end of college either.
