is this the same Siemers who was supposed to win nationals this year (despite having surgery)? Man the Siemers fan club is just relentless on this board!

college times-1500=3:41,5000=13:42,10,000=28:53 spring and summer od 2001. 2002 injured anchored a DMR at the armory in 4:03 only race. this past spring and summer 1500=3:41 5000=13:38,10,000=28:32. If you have run these times or faster your right you can beat me. I would have to wonder why your at a D11 school. I was no were near the best in college but I was competitive. Dont take my first post seriously I would still run even if I was a 5 minute miler, because I love to run.
Peter Kosgei a much better miler than 10k runner? The guy was third, so how much better can he be? I guess none of us expected him to be third either, so maybe he's as good as you say. Banks should definitely run better when he has both shoes on, but for my money Manirakiza's is still the guy to beat in the mile. What about the 10k, 5k, and steeple in outdoors? Will we get to see a rematch between Rotich and Rodrigues in the 10k? Will the steeple be something more than a race for guys who can't quite hang in the flat races (Let's face it, some of those steeplers would get rolled in the 5 or 10)? The overall quality of DII seems to be rising, but will it be as good as some think? Good discussion so far, please continue and thanks for staying on topic!
a few things SBU runner: 1. your program did NOT start 4 years ago, it's been around for a while now, at least since the late 1980's/early 1990's. i'm too lazy to go check your website. coach misch started maybe 4-5 yrs ago if that's what you're referring to, it certainly seems to be on the rise since then, but SBU has been around for 15-20 yrs at least. 2. how do you define competitive? i wouldn't call MIAA that great of a conference lately (17th tsu, 19th moso, 23rd cmsu at ncaa's is just plain horrible and embarassing, the year before just as embarassing). so to finish a hundred or more pts behind the 17th best team in ncaa's at your small conference meet is NOT above average for a d2 program. 3. sanderson should be a good one, but probably behind leif kennedy, charlie hawkins, and maybe a guy from northwest missouri st just within the conference at 1500m. low 3:50s 1500 would be great for him, that's looking in from the outside.

Well you are right, Sanderson is gonna be good this year barring any hamstring problems that have sidelined him in the past.
But you are wrong on the crappy SBU team thing. We are in a great conference but still compete. If we were in a number of different conferences it would be much different. I'm not saying that we are awesome or anything but we are a average to slightly above average D2 program.
that is not bad due to the fact that the program was started only four years ago. It is still building and I am proud to be on the ground level.

im sure peter kosgei is a miler before a 10k runner but if you want his true calling, watch him outdoors in the steeple. no one in d2 will beat him in that event and he will run around 8:35 while doing it. i know about his speed because i saw his backside when he ran 16x400m on grass with 200m jog recovery all in 60-62 and finished off his last in 54.
I agree that the MIAA is overrated in xc-. In track it seems the 1500m is the most competive event. Pepper, Who were you talking about from NW? The top returners are 1.Kennedy CMSU, 2.Sanderson SBU 4.Hawkins Rolla 6. Sorenson Pitt.
Here is my take on the MIAA 1500m
Kennedy is one of the best in the country, but sat out this year xc with injury-so who knows. He has by far and away the best speed of any of the contenters. Sanderson had a good freshman year, but has struggled a lot with injuries, Hawkins also had a great Freshman year(3:50), but hasnt been the same since, Sorenson(Pitt) is a little underrated maybe. Bottom line anything Kennedy runs in the MIAA he is a huge favorite. Sanderson and Hawkins can only hope for a fast pace, and Sorenson can hope all 3 go down with injuries. All 4 have a reasonable chance to qualify for nats. Outside a healthy Kennedy none will contend to be a top 3-4 national finisher though.
Pete Paplanus ran 1:49 a couple times last year and should be in uniform this season for Chico State. I would consider him a threat to go 1:47-1:48 this season and be in the hunt for a title.
Also Beau Bettinger (1:51 h.s.), Tony Martinelli (1:50 college frosh), and Steven Springhorn (3:48 last year) should make a few waves this season for the Wildcat middle D.
h,
your is possesive
you're is you are, dumbass.
i'm sure you aren't that good for two reasons:
1. you wouldn't be acting this way if you were.
2. you won't say your (possesive) name
Anyone have any takes on the women. Who was the girl from BYU-Hawaii that won cross? Has she done anything in track.
I don't think BYU Hawaii has a track program. Not sure on that one, but I've never seen anyone from any of the DII Hawaii schools post any marks on the track. I don't think it exists there.

The way I act and the times I run have nothing to do with each other. Look at chris graff he's as much of a goofball as I am and he's pretty fast. I am sorry for the first post, but I said I was a good runner not an english major. Its my fault I left an opening and you scored on me "your" you're whatever you get the point. as far as posting my name Im far too embarrassed now, also I dont think I have seen anyone use there real name. Alot of fast and well known runner's post here alot of the guys I train with. Anyway, those are my pr's, but I would understand If you dont believe me there no way I can prove it.
Give me a break Pepper. You seriously think that the MIAA is not a good conference. You must be joking. I'll give you one stat and that basically negates your stand on the MIAA. Are you ready? Here it is. For a decently long amount of time, I know for sure about 4 years but probably much longer, the MIAA has been consistently awarded four team spots in their region to go to nationals. Now, I'm aware that a big part of that is Abilene Christian, however, there has also been a team from MIAA in the top eight at nationals giving us the other extra spot. Last year MOSO was in the top eight and the year before that Truman was the fourth team in the nation. Fourth in the nation, damn thats really not representing. Just in case you missed it I was being sarcastic there. And not to mention they did it with no redshirt seniors, foreigners, or 28 year olds. I would say thats pretty good. Have you got anything to say to that? Lets hear it. And in track the athletes are just as talented. Lets list a few shall we. Ben Rosario, John Heil, Alan Heincker, Leif Kennedy, Golias, Pat Boyle, Matt Helbig, Petry, Charlie Hawkins, and Kyle Kerause just to name a few. I mean, you named three guys from the MIAA in your above post as guys to watch. Any response to that? And what fantastic conference are you from anyway?
miaa had some decent teams like the cmsu trophy teams (entire 1990's) and the truman trophy teams (mid 90's and 01)...but nothing else. missouri southern seemed to have potential with the sudden overload of foreigners they got, but they never could put it together. overrated for sure.
this track season i look for the western guys to get some redemption. look for a couple titles (2 or 3) by nagelkerke (indoor mile, indoor 5k, outdoor 1500, 5k, 10k all possible).
d2 isn't exciting anymore now that the rono/alexin/golias/aish/rugema/kemboi days are done. people who think it's getting better are just saying that to make themselves feel better cos they are a part of it. but there is nobody like aish anymore, or the others.
So basically what you are saying is that DII isn't as fun to watch because the majority of the 25-30 year old foreigners aren't making it a mini Olympics. I think that as a whole DII has fallen off a bit, but bottom line the division is getting better people are still developing and the athletes themselves are taking a more serious approach to keep the reutation of D@ (wven if it is a small)I think that NAgs will win two national titles (one indoors and one outdoors)but he won't win more than that he will roll the 5k but won't step up to the 10k and won't win in the 5k or the 1500m. I think that indoors Bernard is for sure the man to beat, but Lowery will be a tough person to take out. Outdoors I think that Siemers will finally be healed and fit enough to run with rotich and cele and should contend for the title, and we will then see D2 roll like the good old days, just younger and american. So if you don't give a damn gone throw it up.
h- no american ran 13:38 or 28:32 last summer. what country are you from?
see h i knew you were lying.
Jarod Wall of CMSU had an outstanding XC season this year (30:something at regionals, 24 lo at osu), but got hurt just before naty's and had to pull out. if he's healhty for indoor, he'll be a top 5 guy in the 5K, no doubt about it.
Poindexter, I will end you!
top 5 in the 5k? hmmm, lets think. you have rodriguez, rotich, kosgei, nagelkerke, eberly back. which one of those will he beat? didnt he not even run faster than 14:45 last indoor season? you miaa guys crack me up!
