I was interested reading the Oregon training thread re Dellinger et al.
I guess that he would have learned a lot from,and refined somewhat,his coach Bill Bowermann's training methods.
I am fortunate to have in my library some of the Bowerman schedules(September-June) from 880yrds to 5Kms and cross country events that he used in the period when he coached at Oregon.
Quite a complex system with some 20-22 individual sessions or mixed sessions specified to cover all race distances.
These are what he chose from,the exact session per day varying with training base period to race period.

I do have,based on this format,some actual training per month schedules used in I suspect the late 1950-70 period
by Bowerman athletes.
It would be interesting to hear the views of Oregon athletes of that time re Bowerman's methods.
