I didn't realize he was wearing flats when I watched it then. I'm guessing that's the fastest anyone has run a 10km on the track in flats (And don't give me any of that Spira 26:00 down the face of a cliff crap).

the difference between flats and spikes is questionable at best.
I doesnt make a difference from the 3k on up
flats vs spikes doesn't matter much

At the speeds guys like Geb and Bekele run, there is nothing questionable about it.
Especially considering the way those guys run.
Just watch Geb's form in either of his OG 10k wins and then try to tell me that he doesn't benefit from the added traction - he's on the balls of his feet the whole time!
some people can't run in spikes because of their arches but it's not these guys
pics?
they are not flats, they are a new adidas shoe that looks like a flat but has spikes built in. much like the shoes asics and mizuno have been making in japan for years.
its called the Adidas Adizero Cadence
Bekele had a some advantage:
Matumbos 3.4oz vs Adizero Cadence 5.9oz
